Former Renault Site with Hines

Development of four office buildings within the Renault development site in Boulogne-Billancourt.

Redevelopment of the 110 acre former site of Renault’s original car manufacturing facility by Hines, in partnership with Sorif and Nexity. The project includes an island, “Ile Seguin” and a large wedge shaped area on the adjacent bank.

The site was bought by Louis Renault in 1919 and turned into an industrial metropolis by the 1930s. In the mid-1980s Renaultmoved all production to less urban sites and looked for a development partner.

A joint-venture between Hines and two French developers took control of the site in 2002. Hines acquired the rights to build commercial office space while the partners focused on housing. The construction of common areas and infrastructure was managed by a common fund of the three developers. The master-planned development will span a nine-year period with over 7 million sq. ft. of office, residential, retail and public facilities.
