Rothschild Bank (interior) with Office for Metropolitan Architecture

The design for New Court is the fourth iteration of NM Rothschild & Sons' London headquarters, all of them built on the increasingly dense and architecturally rich site on St. Swithin's Lane, a narrow medieval alley in the heart of the City.

Following the start of construction in 2007, a new project was begun for the interiors of the public and executive areas. These include the main lobby and a Rothschild archive on ground floor and meeting rooms and dining areas on the upper levels.

The concept is to use the interiors as a way to preserve a connection to the heritage of the Rothschild family and their investment banking business in the new building. The Rothschild archives were used as a source for materials, furniture, images and iconography that were re-contextualized and transformed in the project.
